My sweet failures

 Sweet Tooth

I’ve always had a sweet tooth. It’s been my weakness even through my fitness lifestyle. My biggest downfall is the love for chocolate. I can usually be disciplined at home, but as soon as I go to work, the temptations of cookies, donuts, and candy take control.

My steps to help this that I committed to recently

1. Have gum with me! When I see sweets at work, I’m going to pop that aspartame free gum in my mouth.

2. What I noticed that worked last week, was when I was craving chocolate ice cream, I sipped on some Naked Green Juice my husband bought. This thing is loaded with sugar and is rich and creamy, but I would rather sip on some greens and fruit rather than ice cream.

3. Mute those delicious IG accounts that you follow! This has helped TREMENDOUSLY. I used to order cookies from a local bakery and have them delivered every week. By muting their stories and posts, I haven’t ordered a single box in 3 weeks. 🙌🏾 That’s HUGE!!

Let me hear some of your tips that help fight those sweet cravings!

Ambition and Productivity Killer

How many of you thought of an incredible idea or had an opportunity at the tip of your fingers, but didn’t proceed because of self doubt or distractions?  My BIGGEST productivity killer is distractions. I’m a ‘dot my I’s and cross my T’s...’ kinda gal, and I can become easily distracted by my drive. If I’m browsing something, I want to know all the details. I like to know how things work, and I’m an extreme problem solver. This can easily distract you in our digital world. These aren’t bad traits. These just can be the result of time wasted scrolling on a newsfeed on social media that can bring absolutely nothing of value to your life.  With my time permanently off of social media, I’ve been connecting deeply with friends that I haven’t talked to in months. I’m more attentive to my kids and focused on being in the moment. I’ve placed my phone down without any anxiety about missing out on information from social media because the people I care most about I’m reaching out...

Fun and SAFE indoor activities for KIDS.

Fubbles- this spill proof container makes it easy for kids to blow bubbles without any worries of spilling. This is a must have for us, since our entire downstairs is tile. I would hate for her to spill and slip. Cocomelon or Farmees- my kids love to sing and dance. You can access these two nursery rhymes and kid friendly music free on youtube, itunes, and even Alexa. Flash cards- shapes, numbers, letters, and objects are fun and also very educational for little ones. If they don’t seem interested, just add some music and make up a song while having them guess whats on the card. Besides the obvious toys, having a box of dress up clothes is always fun, especially for little girls. I passed my dress up clothes down to my daughter, so she will be able to enjoy: Ariel from The Little Mermaid, Princess Jasmine, Belle from Beauty and the Beast and many more. Alphabet fun- you can actually put all those fun foam alphabet letters kids use in the bathtub by adding a tiny bit of water into...

Mom-son Bond

Let me first start out saying that I love my kids equally the same. There is no favoritism in the Thomas household. I don’t know what it is, I can’t explain it. The bond between mother and son is unexplainable. Ok, it doesn’t help with him being the baby in the family, but this kid can get away with anything. All he has to do is give me this look and I melt. My daughter on the other hand, she is ME! So I know exactly what’s going through her mind, and that’s why I don’t cave in as easily like I do with Jax. Maybe it’s because everything is a mystery and there is curiosity with him. I’ll never know the mindset of a boy, so everything is new and a discovery. They have a different thought process and they rationalize things differently as well. Whatever it is, I embrace it and I now understand what mom’s say about the bond between mother and son.
