The Social Dilemma: Goodbye Social Media- Minus Youtube and Blogging

 The social dilemma:

Why I’m staying off of IG permanently

The Social Dilemma| Why I’m permanently inactive on Instagram.

If you have not watched social dilemma, I urge you to stop what you are doing and go watch it now on NETFLIX. You will be blown away with the tactics technical engineers have used to keep us scrolling away. I’m guilty of it. I have or should I said had a ‘Fear of Missing Out.’ I felt my only way to stay connected with people on a large scale was to have social media. But what about the days before social media? People were still connected. I believe more personally then today. We traded hugs and in person contact, with emoji’s and filtered facetime.

What made me quit cold turkey was the part in the movie where the young teenage girl was looking for validation from people through her posts. Are we all guilty of that? Why do I post my dope brightly filtered images? Just because I think there great, why do I feel the urge to share? To get the same response. Oh, the irony.

This film makes you really want to stop and evaluate yourself. I’m a mom who has two kids that look up to me. I do not want them to have a social media account. In fact, I deleted all images on the account I created for my daughter to share her milestones photos and videos with family. I pray things change by the time she gets of age to when we actually talk about the appropriate age for her to explore the option of social media. Until then, I’m going to focus on today.

What you will see on my blog is complete honesty. I will focus on the backstage preparedness rather than the glitz and glam you most likely see on blogs and social media. There will be sponsor free information where I tell you the honest truth of using the product, how long I’ve used it, and even the necessary pros and cons.

Stay well everyone! Yes, I’m ok. No, I’m not becoming anti social and wanting to get off the grid. That film really moved me to change my thought process, and to be an activist on person to person contact, rather than put all my focus and energy into a virtual world. To keep my privacy and not be a puppet for technology.

Jax turns ONE! Boss Baby Theme

I can’t believe my son has turned 1 today! 😱  Where does the time go? I remember with my first, time literally stood still. When she turned one, it felt like she was turning four. Time definitely took it’s time with Jaida. One thing I can say is, I’ve been blessed to be a stay at home working mom. I feel like I know my kids so well. I also feel like I raised twins that are two and a half years apart. Jax started his morning off with his first hair cut. It was way overdue. My husband said he did very well and didn’t cry. He was just being super nosey at first wanting to see what was buzzing around his head (the clippers.) Then it was off to the Fresno Chaffe Zoo. We really enjoy going. We don’t go often. I know my kids would get bored with the same thing over and over so we try to go at-least once per year. We really love the Zoorasic addition to the park. You can go on a short half mile trail and see animatronic dinosaur in literally a staged atmosphere but it really feels ...

Fun and SAFE indoor activities for KIDS.

Fubbles- this spill proof container makes it easy for kids to blow bubbles without any worries of spilling. This is a must have for us, since our entire downstairs is tile. I would hate for her to spill and slip. Cocomelon or Farmees- my kids love to sing and dance. You can access these two nursery rhymes and kid friendly music free on youtube, itunes, and even Alexa. Flash cards- shapes, numbers, letters, and objects are fun and also very educational for little ones. If they don’t seem interested, just add some music and make up a song while having them guess whats on the card. Besides the obvious toys, having a box of dress up clothes is always fun, especially for little girls. I passed my dress up clothes down to my daughter, so she will be able to enjoy: Ariel from The Little Mermaid, Princess Jasmine, Belle from Beauty and the Beast and many more. Alphabet fun- you can actually put all those fun foam alphabet letters kids use in the bathtub by adding a tiny bit of water into...

Fresno Chaffee Zoo Trip: Mom Group Edition

Being a stay at home mom during the week, and career mom on the weekends, its imperative that you keep a strong social life. 98% of my friends hold full time jobs. During the week, I found myself very lonely. I missed my social life with adults, but also the interaction Jaida and Jaxon gets with other kids was so priceless.  Since I had Jaida, I always wanted to start a mom group, but would never put any effort in starting one. Since my absence from social media, my time has been productive and I focused my attention on just that...a social LIFE in person..instead of digitally.  With prayer, I jumped right in! I came across some AMAZING moms with the same vision and desire..and we made it happen. We are just one week in, and we have already planned and attended park and zoo dates. I’m so excited to see what the future holds for our little group. The most rewarding is seeing our children having a blast playing with each other. With 2020 being such a crazy year with disco...
